DTE Energy Technologies Selects Coactive Networks to Power Distributed Generation Solutions Worldwide

FARMINGTON HILLS, Michigan and SAUSALITO, California, August 1, 2001
-- DTE Energy Technologies, a subsidiary of DTE Energy, and Coactive Networks, the leading provider of gateways for connecting the Internet to all devices in homes and businesses, today announced an agreement that will bring energy|now™ distributed generation solutions to consumers and businesses worldwide.

Coactive’s technology, including gateways and software, will provide the means for central monitoring and communications for networks of distributed generation equipment. This communications capability will allow for around-the-clock monitoring and management, from activation, scheduling, and load response to equipment monitoring and maintenance, all via the Internet. “As a leader in distributed generation, DTE Energy Technologies will use Coactive’s technology to provide customers with control over costs and the knowledge that their energy needs will be met,” said G. Paul Horst, president of DTE Energy Technologies. “Distributed generation is a technology that we feel will revolutionize the way energy services are viewed by everyone from utilities to developers to businesses to consumers.”
